This standard applies to batteries and rechargeable batteries used in stand-alone photovoltaic energy off-grid systems (FES). This standard contains general requirements for batteries and rechargeable batteries used in FES, and methods for their testing. This standard does not include specific information regarding the size of batteries, the charging method and the design of the FES.
