Настоящая рекомендация распространяется на массовую концентрацию общей ртути в диапазоне от 0,01 до 1,0 мкг/дм3 в почве и устанавливает методику выполнения ее измерений атомно-абсорбционным методом («методом холодного пара») в подготовленных пробах почвы, а также основные требования к подготовке и хранению проб почвы.
