Sampling procedure for characterizing the action of nanomaterials on laboratory animals
Status: Effective - Introduced for the first time
Guidelines establish requirements for sampling methods to characterize the effects of nanomaterials on laboratory animals, taking into account data on the pathways of nanomaterials entering the body and the intended target organs of their effects. The requirements set forth in the guidelines are applied in the course of toxicological, hygienic and biomedical guidance on the safety of nanomaterials in order to make decisions on the assessment of risks associated with the effects of nanoparticles and nanomaterials on the human body. Guidelines are designed to ensure the unity of methods and means of sampling during the assessment of the safety of nanomaterials and nanotechnologies for human health and components of natural biocenoses. Guidelines are intended for specialists of bodies and institutions of the Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare, and can also be used by research organizations of hygienic profile, medical schools and other organizations and institutions conducting studies on the safety assessment of nanomaterials.
