The standard applies to cold-smoked fish. The standard does not apply to anchovy, bull (except oceanic), yellowfin, sprat, salmon, merlanke, capelin, sturgeon, sprat, herring, herring-ivasi, smelt, Azov-Black Sea mackerel 21 cm long or less, sprat, eel (except for marine ), hamsu, cartilaginous fish.

Стандарт не распространяется на анчоусовые, бычка (кроме океанического), желтоперку, кильку, лососевые, мерланку, мойву, осетровые, салаку, сельди, сельди-иваси, снеток, ставриду азово-черноморскую длиной 21 см и менее, тюльку, угря (кроме морского), хамсу, хрящевую рыбу.
