Rotating electrical machines. General test methods
Status: Effective
The standard applies to rotating electric machines of direct and alternating current without limiting power, voltage, frequency and establishes test methods common to electric machines of all kinds; Special requirements for testing electric machines of certain types should be established by standards for test methods for electric machines of these types, as well as specifications for specific types of electric machines. The standard does not apply to electrical machines intended for use in onboard systems of mobile means of land-based waterborne and air transport, and to electrical machines that are subject to special requirements, approved in the prescribed manner. The standard is suitable for certification testing.
