The standard applies to steel building structures specified in Section 3 of steel of strength classes not higher than C440 for buildings and structures for various purposes (structures), intended for use in any climatic regions with seismicity up to 9 points inclusive. and establishes general requirements for these structures. The requirements of the standard should be applied in the development of new and revision of existing standards for steel structures for various purposes, the development of working documentation, including, if necessary, special technical conditions for the manufacture and supply of steel structures of specific types and grades. The standard does not apply to structures that play the role of technological equipment (steel structures of blast furnaces and air heaters, tanks and gas holders, radiating structures of antenna structures, head-mounted headframes, structures of lifting and transport equipment and elevators, main and technological pipelines), as well as railway and road bridges and hydraulic structures constructions.
