The standard applies to the insulating varnish VL-941 (formerly "metalvin"), which is a solution of polyvinyl formal and phenol-formaldehyde resins in a mixture of solvents. Varnish VL-941 is intended for the manufacture of enamelled wires. The use of varnish for enameling wires of certain sizes and sections is established by the standards for wires or technical specifications approved in the prescribed manner.
Стандарт распространяется на электроизоляционный лак ВЛ-941 (бывший "метальвин"), представляющий собой раствор поливинилформалевой и фенолоформальдегидной смол в смеси растворителей. Лак ВЛ-941 предназначается для изготовления эмалированных проводов. Применение лака для эмалирования проводов определенных размеров и сечений устанавливается стандартами на провода или техническими условиями, утвержденными в установленном порядке.
