Рекомендация распространяется на радиоизотопные толщиномеры, предназначенные для измерения поверхностной плотности в диапазоне от 2 до 30000 г/м2 и толщины от 0,002 до 15 мм листовых и ленточных материалов, и устанавливает методику их первичной и периодической поверок. Рекомендация распространяется на толщиномеры по ГОСТ 18061, а также толщиномеры непрерывного контроля (измеряющие характеристики непрерывно перемещающегося материала). Погрешности, возникающие при измерении толщины непрерывно перемещающегося материала (поточная линия), оценивают при аттестации методик выполнения измерений, разрабатываемых с учетом технических характеристик и особенностей эксплуатации конкретных толщиномеров. Настоящая рекомендация может быть использована для калибровки толщиномеров.
