The standard describes in detail the electrical and mechanical design of emergency shutdown devices with a mechanical fixation function and their test methods. The standard applies to electrical devices and switching elements of control circuits, which are used to initiate an emergency stop signal. Such devices may be installed either in an individual casing or according to the manufacturer’s instructions. The standard does not cover: - emergency shutdown devices of non-electric control systems, such as hydraulic, pneumatic; - emergency stop devices without mechanical locking function. An emergency stop device can also perform an emergency shutdown function. The standard does not set any specific requirements for electrical emergency stop devices with mechanical latching due to noise, which is considered an irrelevant danger for these devices.
Стандарт детально описывает электрическую и механическую конструкцию устройств срочного останова с механической функцией фиксации и методы их испытаний. Стандарт распространяется на электрические устройства и коммутационные элементы цепей управления, которые используют для инициирования сигнала срочного останова. Такие устройства допускается устанавливать либо в индивидуальную оболочку, либо согласно инструкции изготовителя. Стандарт не распространяется: - на устройства срочного останова неэлектрических систем управления, например гидравлические, пневматические; - устройства срочного останова без функции механического защелкивания. Устройство срочного останова может также выполнять функцию аварийного отключения. Стандарт не устанавливает каких-либо конкретных требований к электрическим устройствам аварийного останова с механической функцией фиксации вследствие шума, что для данных устройств считается неактуальной опасностью.
