The standard provides guidance on principles that can be applied as a basis for defining the requirements for the connection of disturbing installations to public medium, high and extra-high voltage power systems (low voltage installations are covered by other IEC documents). For the purposes of the standard, a disturbing installation means an installation (which can be a load or a generator) that produces harmonics and / or interharmonics. The main purpose of the standard is to provide guidance to network organizations for engineering applications that will help achieve an appropriate quality of service environment for all connected users. When considering installations, the standard is not intended to replace emission standards for equipment.
Стандарт представляет собой руководство в отношении принципов, которые могут быть применены в качестве основы для определения требований при подключении установок, создающих помехи, к общественным системам электроснабжения среднего, высокого и сверхвысокого напряжений (на установки низкого напряжения распространяются другие документы IEC). Для целей стандарта установка, создающая помехи, означает установку (которая может представлять собой нагрузку или генератор), создающую гармоники и/или интергармоники. Основная цель стандарта — обеспечить рекомендации сетевым организациям по инженерным применениям, которые будут способствовать достижению условий обеспечения надлежащего качества обслуживания для всех подключенных пользователей. При рассмотрении установок стандарт не предназначен для замены стандартов, распространяющихся на оборудование, устанавливающих нормы эмиссии.
