The standard applies to edible citric acid obtained as a result of the fermentation of sugar-containing raw materials by the fungus Aspergillus niger. The standard establishes requirements for food citric acid, manufactured for the needs of the national economy and export. Food citric acid is intended for use in confectionery, canning, beer-non-alcoholic and other sectors of the food industry.
