This standard applies to paints (including water-soluble paints), varnishes, binding paints, solvents, adhesives, oil and related products, and sets the method for determining the flash point in a closed crucible in the range of minus 30 degrees. C to plus 300 degrees C. When using the flash detector method, this standard can be used to determine the flash point of fatty acid methyl esters (FAME).
