GOST R 50571.26-2002

Electrical installations of buildings. Part 5. Selection and erection of electrical equipment. Section 534. Devices for protection against surge overvoltages

Status: Not effective - Superseded. Registration information 973-st dated September 6, 2013 (official website of Rosstandart); IUS 2-2015

This standard contains measures to limit overvoltages to achieve insulation coordination in accordance with GOST R 50571.19 and IEC 60664-1. This standard establishes requirements for the installation and selection of devices for protection from impulse overvoltages (UZP) of electrical installations of buildings in order to limit impulse overvoltages of an atmospheric nature, transmitted to the power distribution system, and from switching impulse overvoltages generated by equipment within the electrical installation. The use of UZP is necessary to protect electrical installations of buildings from direct lightning strikes to buildings, or in their immediate vicinity.
