The standard applies to signal conversion devices for simultaneous two-way data transmission over switched channels of the public switched telephone network and non-switched tone frequency channels. The standard establishes the types and basic parameters of the UPS, providing serial data transmission at speeds from 300 to 14400 bits
Стандарт распространяется на устройства преобразования сигналов для одновременной двусторонней передачи данных по коммутируемым каналам связи телефонной сети общего пользования и некоммутируемым каналам тональной частоты. Стандарт устанавливает типы и основные параметры УПС, обеспечивающих последовательную передачу данных со скоростями от 300 до 14400 бит/с включительно по коммутируемым и некоммутируемым каналам связи с двухпроводным и четырехпроводным окончаниями.
