The standard applies to hot-rolled and cold-drawn steel wire from carbon, alloyed and high-alloyed steel, intended for mechanized arc welding. The standard does not apply to steel wire intended for the production of metal electrodes.

Стандарт распространяется на стальную горячекатаную и холоднотянутую проволоку из углеродистой, легированной и высоколегированной стали, предназначенную для механизированной дуговой наплавки. Стандарт не распространяется на стальную проволоку, предназначенную для производства металлических электродов.
