The standard applies to heat meters for water heating systems (hereinafter - heat meters), designed to measure the amount of heat in water heating systems, and establishes general technical conditions for heat meters. Safety requirements for heat meters set forth in 5.5 and section 6 of the standard are mandatory, the rest of the standard is recommended.

Стандарт распространяется на теплосчетчики для водяных систем теплоснабжения (далее - теплосчетчики), предназначенные для измерения количества теплоты в водяных системах теплоснабжения, и устанавливает общие технические условия на теплосчетчики. Требования безопасности, предъявляемые к теплосчетчикам, изложенные в 5.5 и разделе 6 стандарта, являются обязательными, остальные требования стандарта - рекомендуемые.
