Стандарт устанавливает требования по стойкости прочности и устойчивости к внешним воздействующим факторам, соответствующим условиям эксплуатации аппаратуры приборов, устройств и оборудования систем управления технологическими процессами атомных электростанций и порядокзадания этих требований в стандартах технических условиях и технических заданиях на конкретную аппаратуру.
