This standard establishes a method for estimating the detonation characteristics of liquid fuel for spark ignited engines using the conditional octane number scale using a single-cylinder four-stroke carburetor with a variable compression ratio CFR engine operating at a constant speed, or a domestic UHT-85M engine. Determination of the octane number by the motor method (MON) provides for the measurement of the detonation characteristics of motor fuels in automobile engines under severe operating conditions, and also allows the detonation characteristics of aviation fuels to be measured in aviation piston engines, applying the correlation equation to the octane number by the aviation method or to a certain octane experimentally the number (octane number for the lean mixture by the aviation method)
Настоящий стандарт устанавливает метод оценки детонационных характеристик жидкого топлива для двигателей с искровым зажиганием с помощью условной шкалы октановых чисел, используя одноцилиндровый четырехтактный карбюраторный с переменной степенью сжатия двигатель CFR, работающий с постоянной скоростью, или отечественный двигатель типа УИТ-85М. Определение октанового числа по моторному методу (MON) предусматривает измерение детонационных характеристик моторных топлив в автомобильных двигателях в жестких условиях эксплуатации, а также позволяет измерять детонационные характеристики авиационных топлив в авиационных поршневых двигателях, применяя уравнение корреляции к октановому числу по авиационному методу или к определенному экспериментально октановому числу (октановое число для обедненной смеси по авиационному методу)
