The standard applies to tonkosherstny, semi-coarse and coarse wool of all types, felt from chemical fibers, parts made of felt used in mechanical engineering (glands, gaskets, filters), as well as piece felt products and establishes the rules of acceptance and methods for determining: linear dimensions; humidity; mass of 1 square meter; density; mass fraction of free sulfuric acid; mass fraction of non-wool fibers; mass fraction of vegetable matter; mass fraction of mineral impurities along with ash from plant impurities; mass fraction of free alkali; tensile strength and elongation of felt at break; capillarity; coefficient of elasticity.
Стандарт распространяется на тонкошерстный, полугрубошерстный и грубошерстный войлок всех видов, войлок из химических волокон, детали из войлока, применяемые в машиностроении (сальники, прокладки, фильтры), а также на штучные войлочные изделия и устанавливает правила приемки и методы определения: линейных размеров; влажности; массы 1 кв.м; плотности; массовой доли свободной серной кислоты; массовой доли нешерстяных волокон; массовой доли растительных примесей; массовой доли минеральных примесейвместе с золой от растительных примесей; массовой доли свободной щелочи; предела прочности на разрыв и удлинения войлока при разрыве; капиллярности; коэффициента упругости.
