This standard establishes the requirements for the environmental management system, allowing the organization to develop and implement environmental policies and objectives that take into account the legislative and other requirements that the organization is committed to fulfill. The standard provides information on significant environmental aspects. The standard is applicable to environmental aspects that the organization has identified as those that it can manage and that it can influence. The standard does not establish specific criteria for environmental performance.
