The standard applies to food products, as well as feed and plant samples taken from the environment. The standard establishes quantitative methods for the determination of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) in food products, as well as in feed and plant samples taken from the environment using polymerase chain reaction (PCR), and general requirements for specific amplification of target sequences of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) with the purpose of quantitative determination of DNA content from GMO, as well as to confirm the identity of the amplified DNA sequence. The basic principles, minimum requirements and performance criteria set out in the standard are intended to ensure the comparability, accuracy and reproducibility of the results obtained in different laboratories.
Стандарт распространяется на пищевые продукты, а также корма и растительные образцы, отобранные из окружающей среды. Стандарт устанавливает количественные методы определения генетически модифицированных организмов (ГМО) в пищевых продуктах, а также в кормах и растительных образцах, отобранных из окружающей среды с использованием полимеразной цепной реакции (ПЦР), и общие требования к специфической амплификации целевых последовательностей дезоксирибонуклеиновой кислоты (ДНК) с целью количественного определения содержания ДНК из ГМО, а также для подтверждения идентичности амплифицированной последовательности ДНК. Основные принципы, минимальные требования и критерии исполнения, изложенные в стандарте, предназначены для обеспечения сравнимости, точности и воспроизводимости результатов, полученных в разных лабораториях.
