Electrical apparatus for explosive gas atmospheres. Part 7. Increased safety «e»
Status: Not effective - Superseded. Registration information 873-st dated 10/30/2018 (official site of Rosstandart); IUS 1-2019
IEC 60079 specifies the requirements for the design, construction, testing and marking of explosion-proof electrical equipment with the type of protection "enhanced protection" e "", intended for use in explosive gas environments. The requirements of the standard apply to explosion-proof electrical equipment, the nominal effective value of alternating current or nominal DC voltage of not more than 11 kV, in which additional measures are taken against arcing, sparking or elevated temperatures in normal or specified abnormal operation. The requirements established by the standard supplement the general requirements set out in IEC 60079-0 for protection of type "e", unless they are waived in any particular case.
