The standard establishes requirements for the characteristics of acceleration measurement tools used in evaluating human exposure to vibration, as well as methods for confirming these characteristics during testing: for type approval, primary and re-calibration and on-site health checks (under the conditions of measuring equipment use) . The standard applies to all types of measurement tools: in the form of a separate unit, a set of devices or a computerized system for collecting and analyzing data. The standard applies to measuring instruments used in the evaluation of: - local vibration; - general vibration; - general low-frequency vibration in the frequency range from 0.1 to 0.5 Hz. Depending on the purpose, the measuring instrument must implement at least one function of the frequency correction of the vibration signal. The standard establishes three test levels: - tests for type approval purposes: complete tests of a measuring instrument in accordance with the requirements of the standard; - verification: tests carried out with a certain periodicity in order to confirm that the characteristics of the tested measuring instrument are within the established limits; - on-site health check: tests of a minimum volume sufficient for approval with a high degree of probability that the characteristics of the tested measuring instrument remain within the established limits.
Стандарт устанавливает требования к характеристикам средств измерений параметров ускорения, используемых при оценке воздействия вибрации на человека, а также к методам подтверждения этих характеристик в процессе испытаний: для целей утверждения типа, первичной и повторной поверок и проверки работоспособности на месте (в условиях применения средства измерений). Стандарт распространяется на все виды исполнения средства измерений: в виде отдельного блока, совокупности устройств или компьютеризованной системы сбора и анализа данных. Стандарт распространяется на средства измерений, используемые при оценке: - локальной вибрации; - общей вибрации; - общей низкочастотной вибрации в диапазоне частот от 0,1 до 0,5 Гц. В зависимости от назначения средство измерений должно реализовывать по крайней мере одну функцию частотной коррекции сигнала вибрации. Стандарт устанавливает три уровня испытаний: - испытания для целей утверждения типа: полные испытания средства измерений в соответствии с требованиями стандарта; - поверка: испытания, проводимые с определенной периодичностью, с целью подтвердить, что характеристики испытуемого средства измерений находятся в установленных пределах; - проверка работоспособности на месте: испытания минимального объема, достаточные для утверждения с большой долей вероятности, что характеристики испытуемого средства измерений остаются в установленных пределах.
