Plugs and socket-outlets for household and similar purposes. Part 1. Requirements and methods of tests
Status: Not effective - Superseded. IUS 8-2012
This standard applies to plugs and sockets, both stationary and portable, for household and similar purposes, designed to connect electrical receivers with a nominal voltage of St. 50 V, but not higher than 440 V and rated currents not more than 32 A to the AC mains for indoor and outdoor installation in buildings. The rated current for sockets with screwless terminals is limited to a maximum of 16 A. The standard also applies to plugs that are crimped with a cord, and plugs and portable sockets that are crimped with a cord. The standard does not apply: - for plugs and sockets for industrial use; - plugs and fixed and portable sockets for ultra-low voltages; - on instrument connectors; - to fixed sockets with fuses, circuit breakers, etc. The standard does not apply to plugs and sockets intended for use in places with special environmental conditions, such as water and land vehicles, as well as in explosive environments
