Electrical accessories. Circuit-breakers for overcurrent protection for household and similar installations. Part 2. Circuit-breakers for a.c. operation
Status: Effective - Supersedes. IUS 8-2011
This standard applies to AC circuit breakers for operation at 50 or 60 Hz at a rated voltage (between phases) of not more than 440 V, rated current of not more than 125 A and rated breaking capacity of not more than 25,000 A. They are suitable for disconnection . The standard establishes requirements for switches designed for several values of nominal current, provided that the device for switching from one nominal current value to another is unavailable during normal operation and this transition is impossible without the use of a tool. If possible, it is consistent with the requirements contained in GOST R 50030.2. Switches are designed to protect against overcurrent electrical installations in buildings and similar installations. They are designed for use by untrained people and do not need maintenance. Switches are designed for use in the environment with a degree of pollution 2. This standard does not apply to switches: - designed to protect engines; - the current setting which is regulated by means available to the consumer
