Explosive atmospheres. Part 10-1. Classification of areas. Explosive gas atmospheres
Status: Not effective - Canceled. Registration information 1619-st dated 12/22/2011
This standard establishes a classification of hazardous areas in which explosive mixtures of combustible gases or vapors with air can form, designed to obtain the raw data needed when using electrical equipment and electrical installations in such areas. The standard applies to areas in which there is a possibility of ignition of a mixture of combustible gases or vapors with air under normal atmospheric conditions, but does not apply to: a) mines that are hazardous due to gas and / or dust; b) enterprises producing and processing explosives; (c) Areas where there is a possibility of ignition due to the presence of combustible dust or fibers in the air; d) areas where accidents are outside the scope of violations addressed by this standard; e) premises used for medical purposes; f) domestic premises. This standard does not take into account the consequences of accidents.
