The standard is intended to harmonize the rules and requirements of a general nature relating to low-voltage distribution and control equipment in order to unify them for the respective classes of devices and eliminate the need for tests according to various standards. The standard summarizes all the requirements of standards for various devices that can be considered common, specific problems of a wide range of applications, such as temperature extremes, electrical insulating properties, etc.
