This standard applies to electronic equipment designed to be powered from a network or network devices and designed to receive, generate, record or play audio, video and other similar signals, respectively. The standard also applies to equipment designed for use only in conjunction with the above equipment. The standard establishes only the safety requirements of the above equipment and does not establish other properties, such as type or characteristics.
